From The Black Bond
Aurora Lyra’s own world — track 12 of the three.
The second *Black Bond* track. Slow Rhodes-driven dread, brushed snare arriving in the second chorus, atmospheric clean electric guitar at the bridge. Aedran Korr — the war prince, the man Mira helped imprison — names himself in V1 line 1, names his brother *Tarryn* once in V1 line 3, and confesses the order at Brennfall. The architecture's hard rule: *no male vocal, no duet*. The chest-voice low-register layer is the architectural answer — the same female vocalist carrying his interior.
Recognition flags
Three tiers of fan-recognition language.
Tier 1 — chorus / hook (easy recognition)
- I gave the order (the canonical Aedran tribunal phrase)
- the reasons are on record
- Brennfall
- three years inside the vault
Tier 2 — verse / pre-chorus (medium)
- Aedran Korr (named once)
- Tarryn (named once — the brother who died at Brennfall)
- the lower vault (sister-album sub-location)
- the tribunal asked the reason
- the order signed in blood
Tier 3 — bridge (deep cuts for superfans)
- Once I would have begged the council for the only thing I'd kept
- crayon stub, oxblood, two inches (sister-album signature object — the vault years)
- the order at Brennfall is not the order that I slept
Lyrics
I Gave the Order
[Verse 1] (chest-voice low-register layer leads — interior tribunal voice) my name is Aedran Korr, I gave the order at the door the village burned because I told it to my brother Tarryn fell inside the building I had swore I gave the order. I would do it. True. [Pre-Chorus] (building tribunal dread) the seal taken on a thumb-cut, the order signed in blood the candle burned to a half-inch stub, melted in the saucer the tribunal asked the reason and the reason was the flood the tribunal sent me down to be the author [Chorus] (restrained belted, low-register layer doubling) I gave the order the reasons are on record I gave the order my brother died at Brennfall I gave the order three years inside the vault I gave the order the order was my fault [Verse 2] (chest-voice low-register layer; close-mic) the lower vault is twelve feet wide, the lower vault is dark I counted days with crayon stub on stone oxblood, two inches, sketching wing-shapes — Tarryn — and a mark the tribunal asked the reason. I had none. [Pre-Chorus] (thicker dissonance) the seal taken on a thumb-cut, the order signed in blood the candle burned to a half-inch stub, melted in the saucer the tribunal asked the reason and the reason was the flood the tribunal sent me down to be the author [Chorus] I gave the order the reasons are on record I gave the order my brother died at Brennfall I gave the order three years inside the vault I gave the order the order was my fault [Bridge] (stripped to Rhodes + cello + chest-voice; atmospheric clean electric ringing) Once I would have begged the council for the only thing I'd kept once I would have asked the tribunal what it cost the order at Brennfall is not the order that I slept the order that I gave was not the only thing I lost [Final Chorus] (restrained belted, harmonies doubled) I gave the order the reasons are on record I gave the order my brother died at Brennfall I gave the order three years inside the vault — the order — and the order — and the order was my fault [Outro] (close-mic, chest-voice low-register layer) I gave the order (the reasons are on record) I gave the order (three years inside the vault)
