Aedran Korr — character portrait

Aedran Vinciar Korr was twenty-five when he ordered the strike at Brennfall and twenty-five when his older brother died ten days later. He spent the next three years in the lower vault on the strength of one witness’s testimony. He had a stub of crayon, a wall, and a count he would not let into his mouth. The witness arrives at the Pairing rite at twenty-two. His dragon chooses her.

What he came back to

He thought he came back to clear his name. He came back to find out his dragon had chosen the witness whose testimony imprisoned him. The plan does not survive contact with the loft.

What the bond does to him

It refuses to let him keep his rage clean. Mira’s grief crosses first — he had been told she was a hardened witness, not a daughter. The grief is not a weapon. It is a fact. He cannot unsee it after that.

What he will not do

He will not raise his voice (the drop is the tell). He will not say his brother’s name in dialogue until trust is earned. He will not initiate a touch without explicit invitation — not even when the bond would let him feel the invitation. He will not lie about Brennfall.

Aedran, in three lines

As you wish, cadet.

Aedran’s catchphrase — used as a polite weapon in Act 1.

I have wanted you for ninety-two days. I would like to begin.

Chapter 30

Cost cannot be absolved. The only honorable response to cost is to bear it.

Aedran’s core wound — the false belief he lives by.

The ship

Aedran & Mira

Enemies-to-lovers, slow-burn, dual-POV, bond-crossed. He never says “I love you” first. Mira says it. He answers in three words: “I always have.”

Meet the rest of the cast

The Skarn Reach is a small world. They all know each other.

Content notes for Aedran’s arc
  • Wrongful imprisonment (three years, off-page → referenced)
  • Sibling loss in war
  • Aftermath of solitary confinement (claustrophobia, sleep with windows open)
  • On-page bonded trauma sharing
  • Open-door spice (consensual, earned)
